WORKSHOPS 2010
It’s our passion to teach you new crafts such as jewellery making and millinery techniques! We pride ourselves on the quality of our workshops - assuring you of individual time and attention! Our workshops help you explore lots of different jewellery making and millinery techniques and our teachers are trained to the highest standard.

PRECIOUS METAL CLAY JEWELLERY
Suitable for beginners! Learn how to sculpt and create jewellery using precious metal clay. We show you how to make a precious metal clay earrings and pendants using various clay sculpting, baking the earrings and pendants with a torch and the finishing touches. For more information click here!

INTRODUCTION TO HAT MAKING
Learn how to create a variety of hats with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as stitching, blocking, pattern making, and lining and how to make a variety of hats.
You will create and keep hats using our milliner techniques. Learn step-by-step how to design your hats, discover what tools and materials are required and the techniques for finishing. Learn how to create a beautiful fine fur felt hat with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as constructing, stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish a felt hat - as each material reacts differently to the blocking and construction techniques this is a new skill for you to learn. NEW! BIAS CUT SINAMAY HAT WITH STRAW CROWN!
Learn how to create a beautiful bias cut sinamay hat with straw crown - you can use normal or window sinamay for this technique with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as constructing, stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish a felt hat - as each material reacts differently to the blocking and construction techniques this is a new skill for you to learn. This brim is not blocked in the traditional fashion and we teach you the only way to block window sinamay by joining 'sheet' sinamay into bias strips (prior to blocking), to create a deep sculptured brim that is usually difficult to achieve in this fabric. Learn how to create a classic tailored or parasisal straw hat - with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as constructing, stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish your straw hat either by applying a rolled edge to the brim and crown, creating a classic and smooth silhouette, which needs little other adornment or make a fine parasisal straw hat using traditional blocking methods and construction techniques - as each material reacts differently to the blocking and construction techniques this is a new skill for you to learn. Beginner Crystal Tiara & Fascinator Workshop – Full Day Workshop
Suitable for beginners and wire workers with some experience. Learn how to make two different styles of tiara and the basic techniques that can be adapted to make hair combs and pins using wire twisting techniques and incorporating Swarovski crystals. We teach you the techniques to make your own individual designs to take away with you. The workshop begins at 10.30 a.m. and finishes at 5.30 p.m. with 1 hour for lunch. Tiara Level II – Full Day Workshop

An Introduction to jewellery making – Half Day Workshop
Learn how to create beautiful jewellery with little or no previous experience. You will create and keep a pair of earrings, a bracelet and necklace using threading and crimping techniques. Learn step-by-step how to design your matching jewellery set, discover what tools and materials are required and the techniques for finishing off your jewellery. 'Ring Making' workshop – Level One – Full Day Workshop
Learn how to make stunning rings with wire, crystals and beads. Each ring is individual and you can be as delicate or as Bling as you choose! The workshop begins at 10.30 a.m. and finishes at 3.30 p.m. with an hour lunch break.

During the workshop you will make several different style rings, using silver coated wire, buttons and beads. We teach all the fundamentals for making wire rings and this course is an excellent introduction to ring making. While we state that 'no experience is necessary' for this workshop, some of the designs need strength in your hands in order to be able to twist and wrap the wire. Handmade Lamp work Glass Beads

Have you ever wanted that special bead that you just couldn't find? Maybe to match it to an outfit or just have beads that are totally unique and exactly what you want? Now you can as you can learn to make them yourself!

Suitable for beginners, learn how to make your own Lamp work glass beads using the basic techniques and how to adapt these for different beads. The course will start at 10 a.m. and finish around 4 p.m. with a break for lunch. For more information click here!

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

Ring Making Workshop – Level 2 – Full Day Workshop

Learn how to make stunning rings with wire, crystals and beads. Each dress ring is individual and you can be as delicate or as bling as you choose!! The workshop begins at 10.30 a.m. and finishes at 3.30 p.m. with an hour lunch break.

Ring styles:

Learn to make a charm ring, manoeuvre wire to make a Celtic style wire wrap ring, how to wire wrap stones with no holes, wire sculpture ring, charm ring and make two styles of beaded rings (all different to the styles taught on the level one workshop)

During the workshop you will make several different style rings, using silver coated wire, crystals and beads. While we state that 'no experience is necessary' for this workshop we would recommend that you attend the level 1 workshop first. Also some of the designs need strength in your hands in order to be able to twist and wrap the wire. Please take this into consideration and feel free to contact us if you have any questions. EVENING WORKSHOP SCHEDULE – 3 hour Workshops
Learn some of our most popular jewellery making techniques through our evening classes. These three hour workshops are held in our premises from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. You can join these classes either individually or sign up for them all! Cost: Individual workshops are €50. Sign up for four workshops for €180 (save €20) or do all eight for €290 (save €110) – our workshops include all the materials! Ring the shop to book your place!

Beads and Bling specialise in Beading Parties for ages 5 and up! We bring the beading supplies, the instructors and the fun! We can customise our bead party to any event or occasion! A Beads and Bling beading party takes away the stress of entertainment for your party! You just turn up with the party goers and we will do the rest - ensuring your party is a success! Its great fun and educational! You will learn to create beautiful jewellery using a wide variety of beads. Each person will make something special to take away and be proud of! Workshops and courses FAQS

Q: What do I need to bring with me for your classes?

A: Just yourself! We supply all the tools and the materials for our classes so you just have to turn up!

Q. What time do your classes start at?

R. The start times of our classes vary:

Afternoon classes start at 2.00 p.m.
Evening classes start at 6.00 p.m.
Weekend classes – Morning or afternoon workshops start at 10.00 a.m. or 2.00 p.m.
Weekend classes– Full day start at 10.30 p.m. and finish any time from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Telephone or email us to confirm starting times – please ensure you arrive on time so you don’t miss any part of the course. Check out our website for directions.

Q. Do I need any special skills to do your classes?

R. No! The good news is that for most of our classes we accept people at beginner level. Only advanced courses will typically require some level of experience. Some wirework classes will require minimum strength in the hands. If in doubt please give us a call to discuss.

Q. What age do you need to be to attend your classes?

R. There are no limits on age for our classes but would recommend that for children they be at least eight years of age. We would ask that you notify us if you intend to book a child onto one of our courses or if you have any special needs that we can help you with.

Q. Do you run classes for Children?

R. Yes. We run sessions for Children. We have upcoming programmes for children and are available to run special sessions for children’s parties but need plenty of advance notice. Give us a call or email us for further information.

Advance payment: Advance payment is non-refundable if you are unable to attend the workshop.

Eight Week Course: If you have committed to our eight week course and have paid a deposit only, you are still liable for the full amount if you are unable attend any of the workshops. Your place is non-transferable.
