FEATHER FACINATORS – FULL DAY WORKSHOP

Learn how to create Feather fascinators with little or no previous experience. You will create and keep two feather fascinators using various milliner techniques. Learn step-by-step how to design your fascinator, discover what tools and materials are required and the techniques for finishing off your fascinator. We provide a wide selection of quality feathers and milliner material.

How much will it cost?
The Introduction to feather fascinators is just €130 for our full day workshop and includes all materials such as feathers, combs, milliner’s equipment and much more. Use of tools and equipment are also included.

Learn how to create a couture hat with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish a sinamay hat (the most popular hat making material!).

  NEW! Felt Hat Making

Learn how to create a beautiful fine fur felt hat with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as constructing, stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish a felt hat - as each material reacts differently to the blocking and construction techniques this is a new skill for you to learn.  Make beautiful felt hats all winter long! 

You will create and keep hats using our milliner techniques. Learn step-by-step how to design your hat, discover what tools and materials are required and the techniques for finishing. We provide a wide selection of quality milliner materials for this course.  This workshop is run in our workshop in Kilternan.

NEW! BIAS CUT SINAMAY HAT WITH STRAW CROWN!

Learn how to create a beautiful bias cut sinamay hat with straw crown - you can use normal or window sinamay for this technique with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as constructing, stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish a felt hat - as each material reacts differently to the blocking and construction techniques this is a new skill for you to learn.  This brim is not blocked in the traditional fashion and we teach you the only way to block window sinamay by joining 'sheet' sinamay into bias strips (prior to blocking), to create a deep sculptured brim that is usually difficult to achieve in this fabric.  We will also block a smooth parasisal straw crown and then finish with sinamay trimmings!

Learn how to create a classic tailored or parasisal straw hat - with little or no previous experience. Learn how to use various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as constructing, stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish your straw hat either by applying a rolled edge to the brim and crown, creating a classic and smooth silhouette, which needs little other adornment or make a fine parasisal straw hat using traditional blocking methods and construction techniques - as each material reacts differently to the blocking and construction techniques this is a new skill for you to learn.

Beginner Swarovski Crystal Tiara & Fascinator Workshop – Full Day Workshop

Suitable for beginners and wire workers with some experience. Learn how to make two different styles of tiara and the basic techniques that can be adapted to make hair combs and pins using wire twisting techniques and incorporating Swarovski crystals. We teach you the techniques to make your own individual designs to take away with you. The workshop begins at 10.30 a.m. and finishes at 5.30 p.m. with 1 hour for lunch.

What will I learn?
1. What tools are required and how to use them safely.
2. Wire, crystals and materials required to make these items
3. Step-by-step techniques to make:

  • Alice band style tiara
  • Fascinator style hair jewellery

How much will it cost?
This workshop costs just €130 and includes wire, tiara bands, glass beads and a €20 voucher to spend on Swarovski crystal. Crystals and gemstones over and above this value are charged as extras at their usual retail price. Use of tools and light refreshments are included in the price.

Tiara Level II – Full Day Workshop

Learn how to make beautiful bespoke tiaras with wire, crystals, components and beads. This class teaches you how to make a tiara band, make tree tiaras and make component tiaras. The workshop begins at 10.30 a.m. and finishes at 5.30 p.m. with an hour lunch break. 

What will I learn?
1. What tools are required and how to use them safely.
2. Wire and materials needed
3. Step-by-step techniques to make your very own ring designs to take home with you.

Tiara Styles:  During the workshop you will make two very different style tiaras, using silver and gold plated wire, crystals, components and beads.  For this workshop we would recommend that you attend the level 1 workshop first.  Learn to make bespoke bands, tiaras and what shapes and styles suit each individual customer.  Learn to make a bespoke tiara band and some of the designs need strength in your hands in order to be able to twist and wrap the wire. Please take this into consideration and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

How much will it cost?

The 1 day Tiara Workshop Level 2 is €130 includes materials (a €20 Swarovski voucher is provided) use of tools and light refreshments

Learn how to create fabulous and funky combs and clips using wire and tools with little or no previous experience. You will create and keep a number of clips and combs using wire twisting techniques. Learn step-by-step how to design and create your combs and clips, discover what tools and materials are required and the techniques for finishing off your jewellery. We provide a wide selection of crystal and pearl to use for this design. The workshop begins at 10.30 a.m. and finishes at 4.30 p.m. with a 1 hour lunch break.
