New! Evening Six Week Fascinator Course!

Enjoy a number of our fascinator courses over six weeks! We will be working with Sinamay, Feather, Crinoline, Merry Widow and other popular millinery materials to create fabulous fascinators over this six week course. Places are limited to ensure personal attention to all students. We will be both hand and machine sewing on this course learning all the basics you need to master the art of fascinators.

What will I learn?
1. This course covers a number of our popular fascinator courses over six weeks including funky fascinators, feather fascinators, sinamay fascinators and a little touch of master fascinators.

2. You will learn what tools and matierals are required to make a variety of fascinators and how to maximise your work to make fantastic fascinators!

3. How to design, cut, block, create and professionally finish fascinators

This course is highly recommend if you have limited or no millinery experience. It promises to ensure professional fascinator making by the end of the course - enough to get started on your milinery career!

How much will it cost?
The six week fascinator evening course costs just €450*** based in our dedicated class studios at our premises in Wellington Quay, Dublin City Centre - price includes light refreshments. Use of tools and equipment are also included. *** Materials are extra but the cost of this is minimal as it is on a per usage basis so you determine your spend.

New Evening Six Week Hat Making Course!

Learn to make beautiful couture sinamay hats on our six week intensive course. Get your couture millinery off to a great start learning all the techniques including blocking, stiffening, cutting, wiring, joining and finishing your hats. Please note that as this is an intensive course there will be homework each week to ensure completion of the project within the six weeks.

What will I learn?
1. This course covers the techniques to make a fabulous couture hat using sinamay.

We are delighted to welcome Davina Lynch, one of Irelands top milliners to our school of millinery! Davina trained in London at Central St. Martins, then onto Kensington & Chelsea College working with famous milliners such as Noel Stewart and Ian Bennett. An established and successful milliner, Davina has won several prestigious awards in the world of millinery and fashion and is keen to pass on her craft. She joins us for a series of millinery courses including our Straw, Felt, Bias Cut and introduction to hat making. She also will be teaching a millinery flowers and trimmings course covering a variety of trimmings including feather & silk flowers and taking over our feather fascinator course where she will teach the making of fascinators and the dyeing of feathers! SINAMAY FASCINATORS – FULL DAY WORKSHOP

Learn how to create Sinamay fascinators with little or no previous experience. You will create and keep two sinamay fascinators using our milliner techniques. Learn step-by-step how to design your fascinator, discover what tools and materials are required and the techniques for finishing off your fascinator - we also teach how to block skull caps on this course. We provide a wide selection of quality feathers and milliner material.This is a great beginner workshop for learning to make fasinators and sinamay is one of the easiest millinery materials to start out with!

We have a host of simple yet stunning designs that we teach you to make on the class - how many you take home depends only on how fast you can work (and these fascinators don't take long!). FELT HAT MAKING WITH DAVINA LYNCH!

Learn how to create a beautiful fine fur felt hat with little or no previous experience. NEW! BIAS CUT SINAMAY HAT WITH STRAW CROWN WITH DAVINA LYNCH!

Learn how to create a beautiful bias cut sinamay hat with straw crown - you can use normal or window sinamay for this technique with little or no previous experience. Davina teaches you how to make Bias Cut Hats using various millinery tools such as blocks, techniques such as constructing, stitching, blocking, wiring, sizing, stiffening and how to finish a felt hat - as each material reacts differently to the blocking and construction techniques this is a new skill for you to learn. This brim is not blocked in the traditional fashion and we teach you the only way to block window sinamay by joining 'sheet' sinamay into bias strips (prior to blocking), to create a deep sculptured brim that is usually difficult to achieve in this fabric. We will also block a smooth parasisal straw crown and then finish with sinamay trimmings!

Learn how to create a classic tailored or parasisal straw hat - with little or no previous experience.
